Firmware V2.1.1.16 auto update
we'll be removing the v2.1.1.16 firmware from the auto update server over the holidays and will resume pushing it in the new year. Firmware will still be available on product support pages for manual...

Well, apparently it hasn't been removed yet - mine auto-updated at 1:47AM this morning.

My system auto-updated to 2.1.1.16 in the wee hours of 12/27, when I was on vacation. The satellites immediately disconnected, taking down my security cameras and other household infrastructure.
WiFi is now unstable. The router truncates my password after the first character ("$") and shuts down WiFi entirely when rebooted.
Bringing satellites into same room for troubleshooting and I can reconnect one but not the other. The one connected satellite disconnects every few hours.
I manually rolled back to 2.0.0.74. This corrected the password flaw on the router, but now neither satellite will connect.
The system was working flawlessly since August until this auto firmware update.

Please can you tell me what firmware was in the begining when we first purchased this RBK50 i mean factory default firmware? i wants to downgrade to . actually my speed was 300 mb all over in my home since i upgrade to lastest and latest its become slow slow and slow..

I solved my problem.
The root cause is the truncation of the WiFi password after the "$" -- in my case, the first character.
The router passes this on to the satellites and the satellites then shut down WiFi for some reason.
I reinstalled FW 2.1.1.16 in the router and then, using an ethernet connection, the satellites. I then reset the satellites to factory default, which reenabled WiFi. Next, I selected a WiFi password without special characters. I then successfully resynced the satellites.
Finally, I am reprogramming all of my household appliances to the new WiFi password, which is a real pain.
Netgear engineers, please take notice: I am an engineer; this is not a friendly bug for most consumers.
