Getting Certificate Error when connecting to Orbi Wifi network
Since yesterday, every time any PC selects Orbi wifi and tries to connect, I get a Certificate error in the browser. Wifi / Internet connections work but the Orbi wifi status is no internet, and in Orbi app on iPhone the Orbi Router has an offline status.
I have xfinity / Comcast as my ISP, and Orbi as the mest wifi inside the house. Has been workign great till yesterday
Functional but annoying
Anyone has seen this ? Any help ?
Thanks

There is usually a link somewhere on the page for "more information".
Orbi SSL certificate is a frustrating story. Years ago, Netgear purchased SSL certificates for a bunch of URL's (routerlogin.com, orbilogin.com, orbilogin.net, etc.) When a user entered one of those URL's, the Orbi would intercept it and return the IP address of the Orbi itself. In August of 2019, those SSL certificates expired. Either Netgear neglected to renew them, or the certificate authority decided it made no sense to certify SSL from thousands of boxes around the world that are not owned by Netgear. No one knows.
The issue is compounded because modern web browsers do not want to connect to "unsecured" web sites. (http rather than https). They often quietly search for an https version of what the user entered. BUT, when they hit the Orbi web site, they find the SSL certificate is "self-signed", which browsers flag as insecure.
If the message you are getting regard the SSL certificate being self-signed, my advice is to tell the web browser "go ahead to this web site anyway."
- MstrbigMasterThis is common for me as 90 percent of my installs show a certificate error when going to orbilogin.com. We just ignore it as it is an internal IP address.

Thanks - and that is where I am - ignoring the error and moving on. The problem is, on Windows 10, the "connection status" seems to be set to No Internet, and things like App Store keep bailing out.
Thanks though - it is somewhat of a mess, and worked well till yesterday.
