Gigabit PPPOE fixed
Modem died so had to setup Orbi as a router connected to ONT last week.
Pleased to report that the issue reported in forum post below seems to have been fixed with an interim firmware update
I now see 1GBps connections over hardwired Orbi in router mode with a PPPoE connection.
