guest network DNS issues
RBR750 guest network DNS issues My main network is fine but my guest network constantly have connection issues. When i go visit some site it could not resolve the dns and dies. Everything...
Just solved this issue by switching to Archer AX11000
"connection issues" is a bit ambiguous (could have different meanings). It would help to have more details about the problem.
- The device(s) do not lose the WiFi connection to the Orbi, correct?
- Does the device enable you to test the DNS function directly?
i.e. on a Windows computer, open a command window and attempt to 'ping' someplace, such as:
ping ford.com
or
ping dns.googe.com
Does the URL get translated to an IP address?
URL typed into browser's address bar cannot be DNS resolved.
only some URL's and only some of the time?
Does this happen to every device that connects to the Guest WiFi, or only to certain devices?
All URLs cannot resolve. I haven't tried with other devices but if a macbook has issues with only this network (and not the main network) then it is clearly the Orbi's issue.
Any ping command gets stuck. It happens several times a day on the guest network.Just solved this issue by switching to Archer AX11000
