Hard wired RBS40 keeps dropping out
in 2017 I bought the RBK40/RBS40 package. For nearly 3 years the system has worked flawlessly. About 6 months ago I installed an home office in the back garden and ran a cat 7 cable to the office w...

Thanks plemans
what firmware is on the rbr and on the rbs?
RBR40 - v2.5.1.16
RBS40 - v2.5.1.16
Have you tried a simple reset and reinstall?
I have unplugged the power on both units and restarted. Which corrects things for a while then the RBR drops out again. It can be online and running fine for 2 days before dropping out.
how long is the ethernet run?
15mtrs
do you have more than 1 satellite? any chance of swapping it with another one to test if its truly the satellite or if its the run?
I've asked a friend of mine just now and he has agreed with a temp swap.

Does the RBS drop out when wireless connected?
Is the RBS directly connected to the RBR or is there a switch in the middle?
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?
Please try a factory reset and setup from scratch with the RBR and RBS.

Hi FURRYe38
Re: Hard wired RBS40 keeps dropping outDoes the RBS drop out when wireless connected?
The RBS is out of wifi range of the RBR, that's why I installed a hard line.
Is the RBS directly connected to the RBR or is there a switch in the middle?
There's a gigabit switch in the middle. The switch is relatively new and has another 7 lines connected; all the other connected devices work fine when the RBS drops out. I've also swapped the position on the switch just incase there was a dry joint.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?
The neighbours are about 20 feet away but the channels don't conflictPlease try a factory reset and setup from scratch with the RBR and RBS.
I'll try this and see if it works. Thanks. Out of interest, I swapped devices with a friends RBS50 and this has worked flawlessly. I need to check to see if he has experienced any drops outs on my RBS40.
I'll check with my friend and carry out a factory reset and report back.Thank you for your help.
