Help to setup a wired Orbi40 sattelite
Help me not going insane!! :)
My setup:
Modem --> Orbi40 router --> TP-Link 8 channel Switch --> TP-Link 5 channel switch (cable going from technical room to second floor) --> Orbi40 satellite ethernet slot.
I can't get the satellite to connect through wire, only 5G.

I can't get the satellite to connect through wire, only 5G.Just a quick note: ORBI40 is the WiFi name being broadcast by the router. It is not the modet number, which can be found on the product label on the bottom of the unit. Some Ori's have more than one ethernet jack on the back and some have only one.
It is often helpful to follow a process of elimination:
- Plug the satellite directly into an ethernet jack on the back of the router.
It may take several minutes, but eventually the satellite should switch from WiFi backhaul to ethernet.
If it never does, then putting it anywhere else cannot possibly be successful. - Then, move it to a port on the 8 channel switch.
- If it works there, move it to the 5 channel switch.
It would be useful to know the model numbers of those TP-Link switches so we can look at their technical notes to see if they are managed or unmanaged.
How is the connection method being verified: Orbi web interface Attached Devices page, or Orbi 'app' network diagram?
