I've gone through videos, the ap, different posts, etc.  Seemed like an easy sytem, plug and play preety much.

My router doesn't communicate with the satelites and these are 2 meters away.  Why?

Such hope for this product to solve a long term problem and hugely disappointed at this time.

      Sorry!

Yes, Orbi systems are designed to be easy to set up. No app and no configuration are required.

Connect the WAN (yellow) router port to the ISP modem, power on the router and in about two minutes the WiFi name printed on the product label should appear.  Devices can be plugged into the router ethernet ports.  Devices can be connected over WiFi using the password printed on the product label.

        Does this first step happen?

When one satellite is plugged in and powered on, the ring light at the top should follow a pattern that ends with the ring light turning blue for about two minutes.

        Does this step happen?

When the second satellite is plugged and powered on, this should repeat.

        Does it?

At this point, the two satellites can be moved to locations about 10 meters from the router.  If the ring light turns blue, the router to satellite link is good.  If it turns amber, the satellite should be moved closer.

Many users would rather their WiFi have a personalized name and password.  Doing that configuration requires either the Orbi 'app' or the Orbi web interface (http://orbilogin.net)

"Does not communicate with the satellites" does not provide much information.  At what step of the setup process did something fail?

What model of Orbi is this? (new or used?)
