Thanks for the reply. My setup is
Internet modem -> Orbi router -> 2 Orbi satellites
Lan -> Honeywell Redlink
The Ethernet cable from the Redlink is plugged into the Orbi router. I have powered everything off and on. The Redlink is still not connecting.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Do you see the gateway in the list of connected devices on Orbi? You should find the MAC address of the bottom of the gateway.
- JohnTexasJul 09, 2018AspirantI don't see the MAC address in Orbi based on the one on the Redlink.

It's possible the gateway has gone bad, or the cable is bad, or the port is bad. You could try:
Change the cable to a known-good cable.
Plug the gateway into another LAN port on Orbi.
Plug the gateway into the modem, just to see if it connects, if your modem supports this.
Try it with an old router, if you have one.
If none of this works, then you would need a new gateway.
- JohnTexasJul 13, 2018AspirantSt_shaw. Thanks for the tips on troubleshooting this. The one that helped was connecting the Redlink to the cable modem. It connected to the thermostat. So that led me to focus on the way I was setting up the Ethernet. I was trying to use my old Motorola router. It was set to do dhcp. I think that was conflicting with the Orbi dhcp setup. I took the Redlink off the Motorola and put it on a Ethernet switch. I did cycle everything. Redlink connected to the thermostat. Thanks again for your help.
