Interference with cable fiber network
I have had an Orbi RBR50 router plus one satellite (wireless backhaul) connected to my cable ONT for several years without problem. Recently, I noticed that the number of devices connected increased dramatically, showing over 100 devices connected through Ethernet. I have no wired connections. Most of these additional devices showed up as Arris generic, with a few showing as various routers (Nighthawk, error, etc). It appeared to be a list of devices connected at the access points of the local cable company system. I recognized that I should not be able to see local devices.
About the same time I noticed these, I began to experience frequent drops from the internet, and increased difficulty maintaining a connection particularly on iOS devices. Called the cable company and reported all this, and after they did a little research, they told me my router was interfering with their system, interrupting service to other customers, and they disconnected me from their network. Eventually they replaced my equipment with theirs(eero ).
My question is, is this possible, and, if so, why only recently did it occur?

If the RBR50 was in the default "router" mode, then no. This cannot be correct.
Nothing on the WAN side of the router can appear on the list of Attached Devices.
