Spectrum shows my internet speed at 12MBPS upload, 153MBPS download while the ORBI app shows 23MBPS upload 550MBPS download. Why the difference? My connected devices seem sluggish so I’m apt to believ...
Internet "speeds" vary from one minute to the next. Spectrum is a traditional "cable TV service" where internet was added with frequencies not used by TV signals. In those days, download capacity was much more important than upload, so cable providers tended to reserve more of the bandwidth for download traffic. My Spectrum "Plan" provides a minimum of 200Mbps down and 10Mbps up. (Speedtest measurements often report 300+ download and 11-12Mbps upload.
Could I ask how Spectrum provided these speeds? My Android Spectrum app does not seem to have a way to do this.
It is probably worth asking for more information about "sluggish".
