Is theOrbi RBK23 protected from Wifi Jamming Deauthentication attack

Hi

I am looking to buy Orbi system to wifi mesh the entire perimiter of my property for setting up home automation, all ifttt devices and cameras are 2.4ghz band.

Is the Orbi protected from Wifi Jamming i.e. Deauthentication attack because because it can be done for less than £5?

  • Not a chance.  802.11 standards which encrypt management frames have to be implemented on both the Access Point (Orbi) and on each device.  I have not seen evidence that Orbi complies with 802.11w, and I simply cannot imagine that IoT devices do.

If security is that critical, it needs to be wired.

Look into the Netgear Insight Wireless system with the WAC505/540/564 - full support of PMF/802.11w. Don't cry if your IoT does not comply - that won't be NEtgear's problem then.
