Ok. I recommend you just set your Orbi to AP mode and enjoy the better WiFi coverage. The benefit of Orbi is increased WiFi coverage, not advanced router features.
The main thing you will lose in AP mode is Orbi's OpenVPN server capability. OpenVPN will be 50X to 100X slower than your fiber connection, though, so it's not a good solution for you anyway.
You should turn off the WiFi radio iin your existing router to avoid interference and make sure the DHCP server in Orbi is disabled. That's about it.
It's impossible to help you configure Orbi properly in router mode without complete details on your existing equipment. It's also not clear there's any good reason to do that! You said you have VOIP. If the router provided by your ISP is setup to support your VOIP, then replacing the router with Orbi could cause problems with your VOIP.
I have my Orbi in AP mode behind an $800 enterprise-grade router and the Orbi works great. The Orbi provides far fewer router features than my existing router and I would never replace my existing router with Orbi. The Orbi WiFi far exceeds the WiFi capability of my existing router though!
I found the solution, is not about setting orbi to AP, it did not work. The solution was to set MAC to "use computer MAC" instead of default.
I am just curious, why it works?
