Issue with Orbi RBR50
If you are connecting your Orbi router and satellite together via ethernet, there is no need to have the radio backhaul channel active, yet there is no way to turn this off in the software.

It would be nice is Netgear upgraded the software to enable the deactivation of the radio link when not needed and hence reduce the 5GHz radio polution within the house.
- Disable Daisy Chain to stop the backhaul channels in the Satellites.
- Telnet to Orbi Router and do the following commands to stop the backhault channel in the Router:
- config set endis_wla_2nd_radio=0
- config get wl5g_BACKHAUL_AP
- ifconfig $(config get wl5g_BACKHAUL_AP) down
- config commit

I tried to use Putty to telnet into the RBR, but it's failing. Is there anything special I need to do to enable Putty to connect? I have left the setting as default.
Thanks

Telnet is turned on using the Orbi "debug" page. i.e. 192.168.1.1/debug.htm. Any telnet client will then work. I, personally, use Putty because Putty makes it easy to save a complete log of the session.

I don't see the debug page in the GUI.
I'm in AP mode rather than router mode. Does that make a difference ?

No.
I am also in AP mode and can connect to debug.htm.
Can you connect to the usual GUI page? Try doing that and then move on to debug.htm.
- ekhalilApr 14, 2019MasterYou need to enable telnet in the Router by logging in to orbilogin.com/debug.htm and enabling telnet.

Sorry Guys,
I can log into the GUI but I don't see the debug page or option anywhere, and hence can't turn on Telnet.
I've been throught the user manual too.
Was this option taken away wihen the latest firmware was released ?
Am I missing something ?
Thanks
- ekhalilApr 15, 2019MasterIt’s not in the “regular” GUI. It’s an additional Debug GUI that you can reach on orbilogin.com/debug.htm or 192.168.1.1/debug.htm
