I resorted to resetting it. Twice!!! First time it then showed up again as an available network on the app. After repeated attempts to connect to the router and it telling me that the password was incorrect I reset it again. Apparently it will not connect to both the 2.4 and 5.0 ghz messes it up. After the 2nd reset I only connected to the 2.4 ghz band and all is well. Now if it only does what I need it to do which is feed an ethernet cable to another building.

Netgear has set up a community forum specifically for the WiFi Extender products. Most of the people who watch that forum are more likely to have experience with WiFi Extender products and know how to work it better than those of us who follow this forum. Might be more likely to find someone who has a solution if the question is posted there:

Thanks for the reply. I will look there but to be honest I'm done with Netgear. This is the 2nd time I tried one of their products and had issues. I've installed two TP-Link routers now and the last one just this past week. What a breeze! 5 minutes and it was setup and running perfect. The Netgear WiFi extender is offline this morning. I don't want or need a product that needs costant baby sitting to keep on line. The extender was working when I went to bed. It doesn't even show as available this morning even when I check available networks with my laptop.

Maybe something that isn't compatible with TP-Link products.
Good Luck.- ShopmonkeyJan 04, 2022Aspirant
The other product was a new Netgear router 2 years ago. Devices constantly had to be reconnected because the connection was lost. Thanks though. WiFi is WiFi. It shouldn't matter what make the source is. Just like the firmware update disabling it last night and havine to reset it to make it work again. Ease of use should be priority 1. I'm relatively tech savvy but this is not pleasing me with how difficult it is to make work.
