Issues with devices disconnecting often: Orbi RBK50
Having an issue with a couple of my devices not being able to stay connected to my Orbi system. Smart tv's and dvr's. They are both able to connect to either 2.4 and 5 ghz. I can manually connect ...

Mikey94025, I followed your instructions, but the cts/rts are already set at 2347.
Was looking at other settings because I've been reading that IPV6 can sometimes cause issues. I clicked on IPV6 on the left hand side and it says "Internet Connection Type" - disabled, is that ok?
I just don't understand why it has worked and now all of a sudden it doesn't and just these two devices (dvr and tv). So strange. I've looked into settings on each device and tried to figure out things but all I can get from the samsung tv is it says there are more than one network named the same (2.4 and 5ghz).

did you find out what ubee device it was?

Yes, sorry, it's a Ubee DVW32CB. I rebooted everything. Turned IPV6 off on the tv and so far it is still connected. Still having issues with the dvr's and wonder if it's an IPV6 issue as well but no option to turn it off. My instincts tell me that it's the fact that the networks are all named the same but of course I could be wrong.

The ubee is a modem/router combo device. It causes a double nat if not set properly. Most devices do fine in a double nat but not all.
A double nat happens when you cascade more than 1 router.

Fixes? There’s 3 options but only use 1.
1. Put the modem/gateway in modem only/pass through mode. This disables its routing functions.
2. Leave the modem/gateway in router mode but put the Netgears IP address into its DMZ. This forwards the data to the netgear. You can either leave the modem/gateway’s wireless enabled or disabled. Just make sure its using a different wifi channel to prevent interference
3. Put the Netgear into access point mode. This disables its routing functions. Wifi/ethernet still works but it does disable some features.

Most of that is very confusing to me, not tech savvy. As far as I know when I hooked up the orbi, Spectrum changed the settings in the ubee so it is as you said in number 1. I remember talking with them while I was setting up the orbi and the guy said he had to make some changes, I assume that's what he was doing. If I shut down the orbi I have no wireless, so that would mean the wireless was shut off on the modem correct?
So, I shouldn't put it in AP mode or anything else?
I still feel the devices having an issue are confused with so many things named the same but seriously, I AM "tech dumb" so probably wrong. Just one of those things that is frustrating to me because I can't come up with a solution and I'll keep pushing til I figure it out. 🙂
Any chance the IPV6 could be causing issues? Is there a way to turn that off?
