This is something to post to the Mfr and other IoT Mfrs that haven't taken to heart that phones and pads are dual band devices and prefer 5Ghz over 2.4Ghz and also being on the same network, why do those Mfr limit there setup software to only require 2.4Ghz. They set this limitation. NG only helped users out with adding the separate IoT network on AX, AXE and BE systems so user could get past the IoT Mfr silly design. Ya, Send this to them. You'd think someone there would have the ability to make there setup software work on either frequency with the mobile setup device. But maybe there just being cheep and don't want to spend the what ever extra is is to develop and test on dual band phones and pads. And users then blame router Mfrs for not being able to disable Smart Connect on MESH systems historically.

Your ideas are exactly right. Why do you want wifi on something that is designed to function in the absence of power or internet. all it does is burn more power that could be better served elsewhere.

The corporate office is in Freemont, California. (at the south end of San Francisco Bay, just north of San Jose, CA).
Manufactured in China. (isn't nearly everything electronic?)
I could see a WiFi connection being a convenient way to check up on the device while away from home (and not during a power outage). It appears that (a) creating an 'account' with Jackery, and (b) using the app with Bluetooth to 'add' the Power Station does not link the device with the account, making two reasons to contact Jackery support. (a) rant about WiFi and (b) WTF???. Shame the support links to nowhere.

Is this something you just recently bought?
If it's all that much of a hassle, might send it back and find something with less hassle and better support mechanisms.I saw some support info but ya, not much and seems to mostly be marketing targeted on there support page.
Try the Reddit page or maybe they have a facebook page.
I tend to avoid Mfrs that don't have good support mechanisms in place.
