Internet connections to Synology NAS have been the subject of several recent posts, especially regarding firmware V2.7.3.22.
I do not recall much resolution except for 'downgrading' the Orbi firmware to a prior version. (I have no Synology NAS, so could not help much with the diagnosis.) Might be worth reading through these posts:
https://community.netgear.com/t5/Orbi/Fundamental-bug-in-Orbi-STILL-has-not-been-fixed/m-p/2131508
https://community.netgear.com/t5/Orbi/ORBI-Port-443-Closed-even-with-Port-Forwarding/m-p/2127494
Downgrading Orbi firmware is a nightmare because with this latest firmware, Orbi's will 'auto-update' back to V2.3.7.22. There are only two ways to prevent this, and both have drawbacks:
- Use telnet to change a setting in the Orbi router, which lasts only until the router is rebooted. (I have one that remains downgraded after more than 4 weeks because it has never lost power. If it does lose power, then I would have to go through the entire process of downgrading firmware and using telnet to block updates. As Pooh would say, "Oh, bother".
- Placing another router between the Orbi and the internet which will block access to Netgear's update sites. This requires another router (which many people have in their 'junk box', and also makes forwarding ports much more tedious. (possible, but tedious).
Other users have mentioned finding comments on the Synology forums that describe this issue. I believe one mentioned there might be a difference between Synology's version 6 and version 7 operating system.
Sorry not to have so little information to share.

This is driving me crazy, yesterday I did the downgrade, telnet, modifying the version in the file etc...(top righ corner of orbi administration show v5.7.2.104).
less than 2 hours later, my NAS was unreachable again....I rebooted my orbi, works until it's obliously upgraded the firmware.
since then, every few hours, unacessible again, that's crazy.
What are netgear doing???
