Modem Recommendations w/ ORBI AC3000

I set-up my router and satellite a month ago. At first, speed was great, but now, I’m only registering a ~2 Mbps download with upload of ~9. I have an 8 channel modem, but was told I might need a 32 channel one?

What can I ultimately do to increase the speed? I’ve also seen 100+ download speed previously, but with a low range of coverage.

    What speed to you get directly off the modem? That's the key.

    If the modems supplying full speed, the issue is with the orbi. 

    If its not, then it could be either a line issue or a modem issue. 

    You'd also want to check with your isp for what modems are compatible with your service
