My app device manager shows my laptop is using 2.4GHz, can I change it to 5G?

I just logged on to my ORBI app and noticed my laptop is on 2.4, even though I'm 10 feet from the router. Is that changeable? 5G will work much better, i have everything on 5G and would like to have the laptop use 5G as well

It's up to devices to pick and choose which frequency they connect to if there dual band devices.

Not much you can do. You can try turning down the 2.4Ghz radio on the RBR and see if this helps any. Under Advanced Tab/Advanced Settings/Wireless Settings

Be sure the wifi adapter drivers are up to date.

Also check to see if there is any advanced configuration settings for the adapter in your OS that you might be able to force 5Ghz vs 2.4Ghz. Contact the wifi adapter mfr for additional help and information regarding this.
