My CM1100 Modem is assigning IP but Orbi RB50v2 is not recognizing I can not ping my printers IP ad

My Orbi Router does not recognize my printer

    do you have the printer plugged into the orbi or into the cm1100? 

    the cm1100 has 2 ethernet ports but the average user can only use 1.

    plemansis correct that only the Orbi router can be connected to the CM1100 Modem.  The two ethernet ports are to enable "more than one gigabit" connections in the future.

     

    Would be useful to understand what leads to the conclusion that the printer is not "recognized.  Where did you get the IP address that you are trying to ping?  Some devices do not respond to ping unless a setting is changed.
