I am currently running firmware V2.6.1.36. My orbi is in router mode with a direct connection to my cable internet. It only seems to allow about 14 devices to connect. if i am at 14 and a new device ...

The old device is not allowed to reconnect until the router is rebooted, then the entire cycle starts again. The internet works fine for the devices that are allowed to stay connected.
what are you looking at to determine devices are being booted off?
Are they actually disconnecting and becoming unusable?
How long has this been a problem?
Any changes to your network?

- they are iot devices that i can no longer reach, my server, 2 thermostats, my garage door controller, and some others i can not think of at the moment
- i am running a server that is still running, but i can not reach it
- the devices are not under my manage devices tab, but they are listed as known devices
Are they actually disconnecting and becoming unusable?
- the devices are still functional, but they can not connect.
How long has this been a problem?
- since i got the orbi mesh, but i did not have as many devices then so it was less noticable
Any changes to your network?
- no network changes

This is the Orbi web interface "Attached Devices" web page, correct?
They are "known devices" on the Advanced Tab, Security, Access Control page, listed as "devices that are not connected"?

What does "still functional" mean? The smartphone app can change temperature? The garage door app (what does the garage door app "do"?)

That's hilarious

Actually, I'm pretty sure that a smartphone app can be used to open or close the garage door remotely. Probably know if it is "open" or "closed". (Oh, s**t, did I close the door? app to the rescue.)
I am doing a small experiment on 2.7.2.104. Just rebooted and after an hour there are still four devices that remain "not connected", but they all work.
- djhancockFeb 09, 2021AspirantYou are correct, the known devices and the attached devices still functional means the server is still running and I can sit at it and log in or I can interact with a touch screen on the iot device but the device is not able to reach the network

(not in the sense that they do not appear on the Attached Devices display, but in the sense that the smartphone app does not make them do anything. Like the thermostats do not report temperature and cannot be changed from the app. The garage door controller will not "do its thing" from the app. So few IoT gizmos have screens, I'm guessing this is some sort of ... what?)

djhancockGoing in a completely different direction than others, what are your DHCP settings? What subnet are you on, and how many IPs are in the assignable range for DHCP (assuming you're using it). And, if you're using static addressing, are you sure each device has been assigned a unique IP? I assume, but am not sure, the Orbi will at least prevent you from reserving the same IP for multiple devices, but also worth checking since I don't feel like looking up the answer to whether the Orbi already enforces that.
- djhancockFeb 09, 2021AspirantI'm using DHCP as far as the subnet and assignable range and all that it's left at default and I'm not using any static addresses and again I should reiterate these devices are online until another device joins the network and then one of them seems to get kicked off. My attached device is never seems to go above 14 even though I have many more than 14 devices
