Netgear Orbi Force Device to 2.4Ghz
Is there a way to force a device onto 2.4ghz? I am not getting a good connection with my wifi outdoor cameras. Shouldn't the Orbi software notice that and drop it from 5ghz to 2.4ghz? Thanks
captain_phaser- Thanks for the reply. I like the former better simply because it is done via software and keeps the SSID as just one. Would be an interesting concept and not too difficult to program.
first check that the 2.4 gig is actually working by connecting a 2.4 gig device to it , also check the camera actually have 2.4 gig and not just 5 gig
you are correct that the orbi should push clients to 2.4 gig if the 5 gig is to low as thats what band steering should do
can you also power cycle the camera and see what it attaches to in the attached device list
