After updating to this version manually I am not longer able to login to my router. It says the password is incorrect. It was not reset to the default 'password' either. I guess I have to proceed to resetting the device.

Sadly this experiece is on par with the overall software quality I expect from Netgear.

Same exact thing happened to me. That’s what made me do the full reset.

  Next time, try clearing all browser caches first before re-entering the RBRs web page. Try a different browser to compare.

    Pulled the trigger and manually updated today. So far so good.
