Thanks for the quick reply.
The reason I want to put the security cameras on a seperate SSID is to keep them sepearte from my "network".
In cas of a hack, no access to my home network computers.No data lost, no ransome etc. Not a good idea?

I can only speak for myself. With the Internet of Things (IoT), my house is filling up with gadgets and things that communicate over the internet. My security system, thermostat, wall plugs, light bulbs, TV's, computers, printer, tablets, phones, etc. etc. etc. Why single out the security cameras as as things so horrible that they must be quarrantined, but the rest are "safe"?
Heck, I am such a sucker that when family comes to visit, I tell them my WiFi password instead of setting up a "Guest" network.
