No internet detected with fibre
Hey guys, have the orbi ac3000 version, I live in New Zealand and have trustpower fibre. If I connect my orbi to the modem (Huawei) it will not connect any internet on setup, if I connect it via my ol...
I'm sorry it's still not working for you. And I agree, you shouldn't have to resort to access point mode because you want fewer devices between your fiber modem. Additionally, depending on the type of old third-party router, it could already be diverting less bandwidth directly to the Orbi. The Orbi is an expensive setup so it's only natural one would have higher expectations.
That being said, it's difficult to say who is at fault. Some routers don't play nice with certain modems. You can try these additional options.
1. Power cycle your fiber modem.
2. Perform a hard reset of the Orbi and set it up like a new system.
If that doesn't work, try contacting your fiber provider and insure that your modem is in bridge mode. I understand your old router works when attached, but it doesn't hurt to verify this information, anyway. If your fiber modem has wireless capabilities, you'll definitely want to make sure they're turned off and that it is in bridge mode. Then try setting up Orbi again. Good Luck!
