The WIFI Calling experience continues to be very undependable, with a lot of dropped calls and voice dropouts. Its especially bad on my wife's iPhone.
Based on advice of the community I am currently running my Orbi in AP Mode behind a Verizon Fios Quantum router, on which I Have disabled all the SSIDs.
I read somewhere that iPhones have real problems with WIFI Calling in this configuration, and someone mentioned moving the Orbi into the DMZ so its not being controlled by the FIOS router. I wanted to see if it would be recommended to try ENabing the DMZ for the Orbi IP Address? Would that expose the Orbi in AP Mode to security risks? Or would this be an OK thing to try?
Thanks.
I suggest, if your connection from the ONT to the Quantum router is network cable, to eliminate the Quantum router and connect your Orbi directly to the ONT. Set the router up in router mode. This may very well solve your issue.
With regard to iPhones having issues, the only issues I've seen is usually the cause of the Cellphone company's faulty network. When goin WIFI calling you are basically using VOIP connecting to their servers, which is sometimes where the problem is.

Since you are connected via COAX, do you also have a network cable plugged into the WAN port of the Quantum Router?
Do you have the TV package as well? If so there are ways to configure your setup.
If no to both questions, you could reconfigure your Quantum router to bridge mode and your Orbi router to Router mode. This setup solved a customer's issue with WIFI calling.

Thanks for your ongoing answers.
Yes I do have Ethernet as well as Coax going into the back of my Verizon Router, and yes I have FIOS TV...So I think you are saying bridge mode isnt the right solution, but I can explore a different set up?
