OpenVPN linux

Can anyone assist me with connecting to my existing OpenVPN setup (on RBR50) via a Linux (Ubuntu 20.04) client?  I can connect great from my iPhone, but need some help getting my Linux laptop to connect.  Has anyone tried/succeeded?

  • My Linux Mint laptop connects to Orbi VPN.  I used the *.ovpn file that gets download when I selected "smartphone", rather then the file that said, "non-Windows".  The ovpn file has all of the information bundled into one file.

There is also a difference in which types of connections operating systems support.  Windows allows "tap" connections ans smartphones do only "tun" connections.
