ORBI - Fast Ethernet/slow WiFi internet speeds
I have had an ORBI router plus two satellites for three years. Generally, I'm please with the performance. I have comparatively slow DSL internet topping out at 8Mbs.
We have a Home Office with numerous devices (large format print, tabloid laser, etc.) -- mostly connected via Ethernet cable to the Orbi and to an 8 port Gigabit switch. I have always wired my Desktop to the Orbi. Recently, I installed a 2nd NAS. The first was wired to the Orbi, the new one to the Gigabit switch. I discovered a BIG speed difference writing and reading files from the two -- about 85MBs copying to the ORBI connected NAS, a max of 12MBs to the switch connected NAS. I decided the best way to fix this was to connect to my network via my WiFi in my desktop (which I just switched to an Intel AX200/BT5.0 card) and connect the 2nd NAS directly to the ORBI.
My internet speed is now the problem. Even though the antenna for my PC desktop is located only 6 ft. from the ORBI, I only get speeds of about 3.5-4Mbs. My wife, on a ten year old Mac DesktopPro 15 ft away can get 7.5Mbs. I can't figure out what the issue is. My iPhone gets close to 8Mbs as well. Is the issue the ORBI? The drivers or device? (I tried an Asus 802.11 ac card in my desktop with the same results).
Thank you for the help.

What make and model is your 2nd NAS, as it seems from what you are saying the problem exists when that NAS is hooked into your network?
I would test wired speeds with a PC or laptop while connected to a switch with the NAS.
