Orbi - no VoIP connection after disconnect and reconnect of Internet connection
Hi all, I am running an ORBI RBR50 router with three satellites (RBS50). All is running fine so far. I use a Huawei LTE router with bridge mode for internet access. Firmware is up to date: V2.5...

Tried that - no luck.
What works for now: I changed my LTE router in order to have double NAT:
Fixed ip of the lte router (not in bridge mode, but normal access point mode) with 10.0.1.1 and external IP from the provider. DMZ with Orbi 10.0.1.2
Orbi with fixed IP 10.0.1.2 and Internet access via 10.0.1.1
Internally orbi network with 10.0.0.x
Now a disconnect of the LTE connection does not result in a new IP for the Orbi - and the VoIP stay connected even after a new LTE connection (and new external IP for the LTE router)
It seems Orbi is unable to communicate the new internet IP to the VoIP clients (or they don't understand it) if the LTE router is in bridge mode.
Double NAT is not very nice, but a least it is working now.

As there are any further comments I guess I have to live with it :(
It seems to be a general problem - both devices are offline / not able to reconnect until reboot...

Have you removed all port configurations and put the IP Phones IP address it gets from the RBR into the RBRs DMZ?

Sometimes bridging the modem doesn't work well however using the DMZ on the modem for the Orbi can work well. Glad you got working. Please mark your thread as solved so others will know.
Enjoy. :smileywink:
