Orbi AC3000 / RBR500 Unable to update Firmware (firmware update failure)

I have been having intermittent wifi issues with my Orbi. I went to upgrade the firmware from the app but it says that it failed.  Any help with how to update it?  Or is it better to just reset the s...

what firmware version are you on? v2.7.3.00

What modem/gateway are you connected to? connected to ATT using there modem PACE 5265AC (all radios are off on this)

What "issues" are you having in details? (the more details, the better we can help) Periodically my wifi seems to drop for a few seconds and then comes back online.  Example is that when we are watching Hulu, it buffers for 2 seconds and then the service will come back on.   This happens when I am on work calls as through MS Teams as well.  My call will drop and tell me that I no longer have connection and then the connection comes back a few seconds later.  My work laptop is wired to one of the satellites.

Hello nazzoli,

 

I understand you are having issues with updating the firmware to your RBR50 using the mobile application. The RBR50 can also be manually updated using a computer.  Please follow the steps below to update your RBR50 using a computer. 

 

 

First, Download the updated firmware from the link below then save it to your desktop:

Then, Navigate your RBR50 log in page by navigating to the following link :

 

http://orbilogin.com

 

Once you are logged in to the RBR50 follow the instructions below:

 

  1. Select ADVANCED > Administration > Firmware Update.
  2. Click the Manual Update tab.
  3. Click the Browse button, then locate and select the file that ends in .img on your desktop.
    Be careful not to select the wrong file.
  4. Click the UPLOAD button to upload the firmware file.
    It takes a few minutes to finish the process.
    The page adjusts.
  5. Click the YES button to continue.
  6. After the Orbi router finishes updating, double-check the firmware version in the upper-right corner.
    The firmware on your Orbi router is updated.

 

(Please ensure first your update the firmware on the satellites then your router)
