Orbi and smart home devices
I have smart devices that are spec’ed to run on 2.4G band but show up as connected to 5G. Is there some way to force a device to be connected to a particular band?

Are you sure they are only 2.4Ghz only suporting or do they support 5G as well? Be sure verify with the MFr.
Wireless devices will choose which frequency to connet to.
2.4Ghz only supporting devices will never connect to 5Ghz. Ever.
I agree. Can you name the specific devices which are only 2.4G but connect to 5G? Somebody is wrong (manufacturer, Orbi status), and it will be great to learn how.
