Orbi Android App & Router Password Resets

Is it just me or does updating the Android app for administrating the router cause issues with the admin password for the router?  It seems like every other time I perform an update to the app I can't login as admin with the current password and have to go through the router password reset process.  

I like the app but it's a pain to have to get the router serial number and send that in for a reset, plus I feel like that reset process is inherently insecure since it isn't even an SSL/TLS encrypted web connection.
