Orbi app vs web interface - different information
So I'm trying to add another satellite to my Orbi system (currently RBK50 and one RBS50 satellite). I can get it to join via wifi backhaul, but I really would prefer ethernet from where this one is...

They are all on FW v2.5.2.4 - all synced wirelessly, but will not connect via ethernet.
I've tried two different switches (read somewhere that 'green' enabled switches had issues) - going to try to get it to connect directly to the RBR and see if it will work that way, then move it.

Yes some switches included Green Ethernet features which can cause problems.
What Mfr and model# switch are you using?

Also has this worked before with your switches before the FW update?

The area where the satellite is had a Trendnet green switch.. pulled it and tried a d-link non-green switch. Neither worked. No, it's never worked with ethernet backhaul.

Ok, so does the RBS work if you directly connected to the back of the RBR with just a patch cable? CAT6 is recommended. After it's wireless connected, then connect the cable between the RBR and RBS. Try a different port on the back of the RBS as well.
If the RBS doesn't connect at all on wired backhaul, I would presume the RBS maybe faulty.
