Even though I had rebooted the Orbi router several times and had done a factory reset of the miss-addressed satellite several times over many hours of pulling my hair last night, this morning I reset the satellite one more time and it miraculously got a new address in the right range. I have no idea why. (I have Google Fiber and the modem is just a modem. The Orbi is the only router giving out addresses on my network.) I have seen this behavior one other time on my mesh where it took about 8 hours or so for the Orbi router to give the second wired backhaul satellite a proper address. This is using latest firmware V2.7.3.22. The other wired satellite gets assigned a correct address right away. They are not daisy chained. And the satellite getting the right address first is not always the same satellite.

Also, if you have not tried resetting your satellite then try that: https://kb.netgear.com/000062566/The-router-and-satellite-of-my-Orbi-RBK13-are-not-syncing-what-do-I-do#:~:text=Using%20a%20paper%20clip%20or,LED%20to%20pulse%20white%20again.
