Orbi assigning 1 satellite out of range address
Router is set as DHCP server set for range of 10.0.0.2 to 10.0.0.254. There are 2 wired satellites. One is correctly assigned 10.0.0.3 but the other is assigned 192.168.1.250. All other devices ar...

Even though I had rebooted the Orbi router several times and had done a factory reset of the miss-addressed satellite several times over many hours of pulling my hair last night, this morning I reset the satellite one more time and it miraculously got a new address in the right range. I have no idea why. (I have Google Fiber and the modem is just a modem. The Orbi is the only router giving out addresses on my network.) I have seen this behavior one other time on my mesh where it took about 8 hours or so for the Orbi router to give the second wired backhaul satellite a proper address. This is using latest firmware V2.7.3.22. The other wired satellite gets assigned a correct address right away. They are not daisy chained. And the satellite getting the right address first is not always the same satellite.

Either way, glad you got it fixed!
Might want to mark it solved so others aren't still trying to fix something already taken care of 🙂

Hi beguna1,
I am happy that you were able to sort this issue out. There are times when we have to be persistent when dealing with technical anomalies. From your previous post, it looks like you have an RBK50 Orbi system.
Please navigate to the link below for the download file for your RBR50:

(Please ensure you update the satellites first. )

Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.

Updated the firmware on the 2 satellites and the router and backed up the configuration. (The satellites were correctly assigned addresses this time around.) Thanks again.
