Orbi CBR40
I currently have a RBR40 Tri-Band Mesh System with RBS40 Satellites. I am moving to an area where the only ISP is via the local cable company. Will the CBR40 work with my RBS40 Satellites?

Yes.
Be sure the ISP supports the CBR40.

It'd work but it seems a step back to buy the CBR40 versus keeping the RBR40 and just buying a modem only that your ISP supports.
Reason I say this is the ISP pushes the firmware to the CBR40 and they tend to not update the firmware nearly as much as Netgear does. So you end up on older firmware.
Versus just getting a modem only device that the isp supports. Then at least the router is updated and then you can update the router as needed instead of using a combo device.

So you would recommend something like this instead? https://www.netgear.com/home/products/networking/cable-modems-routers/cm1200.aspx and just connect my RBR40 system to it?

If its compatible with your isp it'd work. I'd get the cm1000 or the cm1100 over the cm1200.
Most don't undertand that even through the cm1200 has 4 ports, only 1 is usable for most users. Those with a router that supports wan link aggregation can use ports 1 & 2. (that orbi doesn't)
