Orbi compatibility with TalkTalk modem/router Fast 5364
I am considering purchasing the Orbi RBK53 to set up a mesh in my home in order to improve WiFi coverage. My ISP is TalkTalk and I use their Sagecom Fast 5364-3 modem/router.
My question is whether the RBK53 is fully compatible with the TalkTalk 5364 router? Netgear suggests that it will work with any generic router and that it just needs plugging into the ISP router’s internet port and everything will work. However more digging suggests that (i) the ISP router has to be put into bridge or modem mode and/or the RBK53 has to be put into AP mode; and (ii) the Sagecom 5364 cannot be switched to bridge or modem mode.
Does this mean that the TalkTalk/Orbi combination will only work with the Orbi in AP mode?
I have also read that the Orbi App cannot be used to manage the system if it’s in AP mode. Is this correct – in which case is the App any use at all in AP mode?
Any help appreciated.

This would be a double NAT (two router) condition which isn't recommended. https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT

Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the Orbi router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.
3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the Orbi router to the modem, configure AP mode on the Orbi router. https://kb.netgear.com/31218/How-do-I-configure-my-Orbi-router-to-act-as-an-access-point and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7LOcJ8GdDo&app=desktop- PMH62Aspirant
Thanks for your reply. I'm checking with my ISP on whether their router can be switched to modem or brdige mode (I suspect not). If I run the Orbi in AP mode, what functionality will I lose from the app?
No.
