Orbi Connection Drops Often - RBR50 & RBS50

Modem is a Surfboard SB6190. We are in a city neighborhood, but my iPhone shows between 3 & 10 neighbor networks in range (depending on where I stand in my house).

One sat is about 25 feet from the router - same floor different room and the other is 40-50 ft away on a second floor.

My 2.4GHz is set to auto and the 5GHz is set to 48....should I try changing the 2.4 channel? Would that remove any possible interference from neighboring networks?

We've got a lot connected...3 ipads, 2 phones, Nest, Ring, 3 apple TVs, 2 PCs, 3 laptops, 3 PS4s, 1 PS3, 1 XBoxOne. But obviously not all running at the same time.

On a normal day, we'd have all three kids streaming/gaming on a device (PS4 or iPad) and the adults streaming on an apple TV. However, we also get dropped connections with all kids in bed and just streaming Netflix on an Apple TV.

I'm using the LAN cable that came with the Orbi to connect it the modem and router. Is there something better I can buy?

Side note – as I was responding it dropped connection again. This time 2 hours between dropped connections. This is the 4^th drop today….and I’m sure not the last.

I see your set-up uses a non-managed switch? I think I saw that mentioned in another forum but don’t know what it is.

How big is your home? SqFt?

25 feet is too close for a satellite to the router. The router alone can cover up to around 30 feet, depending upon buiding materials.

Can you temporarily disable the closest satellite, power it off and just use the farthest one with the router for now?

Yes, change 2.4Ghz to manual 1, 6 or 11.

CAT6 lan cabling is recommended. Places like deepsurplus or monoprice. Sometimes you might find CAT6 at a local store as well.

  The house is 3,000 sqft but its old and the walls are pretty tough to get a signal through. The 25 foot sat is located in the office, with our PCs wired into the back of the sat...they are both gaming PCs built with no wi-fi card so they need the ethernet connection. I could have the cable company move the main internet connection out of the living room and into the office - but that seems like a lot of effort just to make these stupid Orbis work properly.
  
  Ok - so I used the Mac wireless diagnostics on my laptop and it said the best channel for 2.5 would be 6 or 2 based on the other networks around me so I changed it to 6 on the Orbi. I'll check Amazon to see about locating some CAT6 LAN cable. Fingers-crossed...

    Internet dopped again...on the log this DoS Attack keeps showing up. What does this mean? We've had connectivity issues with Orbi all along, but the problem is so much worse over the last few days.
