Nothing like replying to your own post, but just in case it'll help somebody else...
The time zone can be set under Advanced / Security / Schedual in the web interface.
And apparenly even though Netgear doesn'r want to talk to you directly, maybe they do read these! Because my router firmware updated to 1.9.1.12, which isn't even listed on the Downloads page yet. The Satelite stayed on 1.8.1.6 though?

The latest firmware is now on the support page in case you need do manually update the satellite.

Updated the Satelite manually, thanks. And now it's also checking for updates well as the Hub. The Satelite used to just sit there saying "wait". Apparently they're getting there!
