Orbi disconnecting on Cox modem Arris SB8200

Ensure your using good quality LAN cabling. CAT6 recommended. Swap cables and test. Don't use the cable that came in the box with the Orbi. Shortest cable length possible.
Can you still access the routers web page when this happens?
Both wireless and wired connections?
Any other wifi neighbors near by? If so, how many?
What FW version is currently loaded on the system?

Try a factory reset and set up from scratch after upgrading if you do upgrade.

Thanks for the feedback/recommendations.
These disconnects started to happen very recently. The Orbi had been in place, with cables and up to date firmware for many months. I have not changed the modem or cables since it was initially set up.
The orbi is reachable via wife or cabled input - i can go to the setup website or use my mobile app to reset the router and all is fine - for a while.
Based on this, I have to think that there is something on the upstream side, coming either from teh internet or from the modem that are causing it to hiccup and disconnect. Perhaps a firewall between the Orbi and the modem will filter out these events and let the router do its thing...
I will do the full reboot and reconfiguration/setup as you suggest to see if that has an impact.
