Darren, Funny you should ask. I can't even get to that step. When I look at the downloads, there is a confusing page with "compressed file
Thanks for reply Darren. See below. I can't get past this window. So I do not know which zip program will be employed.

Reply to myself:
Can't unzip the file that Netgear sent.
Why do I have to update router and satellites separately?
This gets complicated for a device sold to the general public.

Winzip sasys the file is potentially dangerous.
Winzip also says file cannot be opened due to corrupt data.

The "confusing page" looks like it is showing you the contents of the compressed file. The first file is the release notes. The second file is the firmware image "RBR50-V2.1.1.18.img". Your Windows File Explorer is set to not show common file extensions so you do not see the ".img" part of the name. Everything looks in proper order.
The "Image" is a tab. You can extract the files by clicking on the "Extract All" button towards the upper right. Make note of where it will extract to. Then go there and use the ".img" file to update the firmware. Note that since you do not show extensions, you will have three items shown as "RBR50-V2.1.1.18".

Thanks. I was able to move ahead a step or two.
Unzipped the file into my Netgear folder.
Trying to open the file, the message is "the disc image file is corrupted."
Appreciate any help.
