Orbi frequently loosing connection and turning magenta
My set up: Fios Actiontec MI424WR rev e, router conneted to Fios ONT via MOCA 2.0, feeding RBRB50 with three satellites (large 3 story house). I also have some TIVO minis connected via Moca 2.0/c...

Well if the router is blinking magenta it could also be a defective Verizon router. The MI424WR is an ancient router and has no Gigabit ports, so you are connected 10/100 to the Orbi, which is like a 1" hose connected to a 1/4" hose.
I would contact Verizon and ask them why they gave you such an old router and tell them to switch you to a FiOS Quantum Gateway G1100 router or an Arris NVG468MQ 802.11ac Wi-Fi and MoCA2.0 WIFI Router, if they offer it. The Quantum is faster, supports MOCA 2, more stable and has Gigabit ports, instead of 10/100 ports. The Arris is just an all around better router and it supports MOCA 2.
