ORBI LBR20 CenturyLink SPAM | Webmail

I am using an ORBI 4GLTE LBR20 cellular router on T-mobile.  Firmware version 2.5.2.20.  My computer is connected via WiFi to the 4G LTE router.

I wanted to share that if you are using webmail.centurylink.net and send an email through webmail the centurylink postmaster@centurylink.net will flag your email as spam:

"554 5.1.1 [P2] Message blocked due to spam content in the message.

Your email was rejected for policy reasons.  Reasons for rejection may be related to content with spam-like characteristics or IP/domain reputation problems.  Please contact your Email/Internet Service Provider for additional help."

If I connect to my computer to my DSL line via WiFi I don't get this error.  I suspect the cellular routing is putting on extra data packets that are making the email look like spam to the CenturyLink email servers.

Centurylink does not support the ORBI LBR20 but they should notify you if that no support is availble you are using their Tier 1 technical support for basic troubleshooting.

Anyone else having email problems showing up as spam when using web based email?

  • It might be worth a few minutes to determine if centurylink is the only web based mail service that does this.

i.e. sign up for a GMail, Hotmail, Yahoo (etc) account and send messages.

Can you explain more about "Centurylink does not support the ORBI LBR20"?

How would Centurylink even know what WiFi router is attached to their modem?
