Orbi LBR20 issue or SIM card issue?
I acquired a AT&T activated SIM card from one of the 3rd party subscribers and installed it in the router, it was great for 6-7 days. Download speeds averaged 30-35mb consistently throughout that firs...

Hi XxJamesAxX
Welcome to NETGEAR Community!
There may be a few different conditions in which this could happen.
How many devices usually connect to the network?
Does it affect wired connection? Wireless connection? Both?
Please check the current firmware version. The latest firmware version is 2.5.2.20

Blanca

- XxJamesAxXSep 22, 2020AspirantThe latest firmware is installed and both the wired and wireless download speed is affected.
I also have a phone on the AT&T network and it still works fine so I know it’s not an issue with my local tower. (Just throwing that out there) - XxJamesAxXSep 22, 2020AspirantI forgot to answer your other question above, I have set up 7 devices to connect to the router but generally there is only 2-3 connected at the same time.

Hi XxJamesAxX
Thank you for responding. We are currently looking into this.
We saw a different thread that shows the same symptoms, using an AT&T SIM card acquired from Nomad Internet, but it is a different mobile router.
We'll get back to you the soonest for update.

Blanca

Hi XxJamesAxX
Kindly call ISP and provide the device IMEI / SIM card information to check if any SIM/ISP limitation.

AT&T is severely cracking down on unlimited data plans resold by unathorized resellers. This is typically done via increasingly aggressive IMEI sweeps to check that the IMEI of the device that the plan was activated on matches the IMEI of the current device. So, if Nomad or whoever you're using is reselling unlimted plans using phone or tablet IMEIs to activate the SIMs they are providing you with (or other data devices besides the LBR20) it would explain perfectly well why your service worked fine for a short time until they ran the IMEI check against the current network attached device. This is why I never recommend using resellers; the amount of transparency about what you're actually being sold on the backend is almost always zilch. Feel free to DM me if you have any further questions about these types of things. Hopefully your reseller is able to get you on a plan which will work for your LBR20.
