Orbi Mesh system question - need another satellite ?

Try testing it temporarily. Move the upstairs one down to the basement and see if the issues still happen. If they do, no it won't help. If it fixes them, then you might indeed benefit from another satellite.
Also, the RBS20, RBW30, RBS40, RBS40V, RBS50, RBS50Y are all compatible. You dont have to get just the RBS50.

As to the other devices that are compatible, yes they aren't but aren't those slower? (the backhaul) those if I want speed I should stay with the 50? again thank you
They do have a slower backhaul. But it depends on what speeds you have and what you're doing. Its not going to slow the whole system, just the device connected to that satellite. Plus if you look at backhaul reviews, there wasn't a whole lot of drop off in speed.

So again, a lot depends on what you're doing and need for speed in the basement.
Thank you. I don't really understand all this stuff to be honest. I don't game, I do stream. So there can be two items streaming and a computer or two working at one time.
My current speed in the basement is 147.24Mbps down and 10.22 Mbps up which the app sais is extremely fast. So given this, are all these satellites stil options? If so, is one a better option than the other or are they still all equal?
