Thanks for the reply
However I belive my router is in AP mode though I'm not sure how to check, I didn't know modems needed to be portforwared (do I simpy plug my ethernet cable from my computer to the modem?), and don't know what a server IP is.
Thank you so much
Sorry for the ignorence :mantongue:

If your Orbi is in AP mode, then you don't need to worry about setting up port forwarding on it. You need to configure port forwarding on whatever device is operating as your router. That could be your modem, which might have a router built into it.

I actually may have misread the information. I believe my router is not in AP mode. Its operation mode is router but earlier I had read wireless settings

Does your modem have a router built into it and is it active? If yes, then you have a double NAT setup. This is generally not recommended. In particular, it makes port forwarding difficult because you have to open up ports on both "routers". You should either disable the router on the modem or put the Orbi into AP mode.

I would assume port fowarding on my router would involve me connecting my ethernet cabel from my computer into the router. However I cant use the ethernet cae in any other ports than the one the router is connected to. I sould think that this means my modem is not working as a router? Is there a way to find out?
