Orbi Rb-50 not port forwarding ?
Been trying to figure this thing out but it doesn't seem to want to open the actual port. Orbi Rb-50 and satellite running in router mode. Xfinity 1gb service running through an arris surfboard T2...

The modem ( Arris surfboard T25)is mine( bought ) but has some security feature on it that will only allow me to view certain pages. It's asking for a password of the day to view anything so no way for me to even check DMZ etc. ..FWIW I've been fighting this thing for about a week Xfinity claims it's no way to be their approved modem as the router is the one who has the ability to forward ports. No way for the Arris to block a specific IP or port that the Orbi is in control of.
Can you give us a screenshot of your Orbi port forwarding configuration page?
Is your Arris cable modem in bridge mode or is it also doing routing functions? If the modem is not in bridge mode, then you have to port forward on the Arris to the Orbi before it can port forward successfully. If the cable modem is doing routing as well as your Orbi then you have Double NAT, which is not ideal but should not prevent port forwarding if you port forward from the Arris to the Orbi or setup the Orbi as the DMZ on the Arris.
One way to verify if your Arris is in bridge mode is to look at the Internet IP shown on your Orbi. Is it the same IP displayed by https://canyouseeme.org/? It will not be the same if your Arris is also doing routing and can prevent port forwarding by your Orbi.

The Arris is literally just a broadband modem no wireless functions. It's run straight into the Orbi that is set up in router mode.
There is no need to bridge it as it's made to run into a router as per the manufacturer and Xfinity techs( but I seemed to know more then the Xfinity "tech" just with the research I've done over the last few days.

This is the product, correct: http://www.reefangel.com/
There appear to be multiple "parts" to this aquarium controller. Can you please explain exactly what you have and how it is connected to the Orbi? (ethernet, WiFi)?
Is it possible to configure the device for local access only? i.e. control it when the smartphone is connected to the same LAN?
