Hi my phone seems to be locked into the 5ghz signal but I need it to be on the 2.4ghz so I can link it to my wi-fi enabled lights etc. How do I change this ?

Disable the wifi on the phone temporarily.

 

Uncheck the box next to "Enable 5G SSID Broadcast" found under Advanced Tab/Advanced Settings/Wireless Settings. Save and apply.

The RBR may reboot. Wait for it. Then re-enable the wifi on the phone. IT should connect to the 2.4Ghz SSID frequency.
