I have tried updating and there are no more recent updates to download. As far as the router is concerned, I don’t have a way of making it more central in my home due to connectivity. My main issue/concern is are the satellites supposed to show when I’m closer to them that I’m connected to the satellite or does it stay with the router no matter where I’m at in the house?

You can update manually.
its not about being more central but it is about having them far enough apart. They need 30ft minimum between them or they won't roam correctly
