Orbi RBK40 huge ping variation from PS4 c/w previous Asus N66U
I have an Orbi RBK40 system (2.0.0.56 firmware) which replaced an Asus N66U, connected to a Comcast cable modem. The rest of the system was unchanged. We have a PS4 Pro wired to the Orbi base-station...
have you tried going directly to the orbi and not using the switch?

I have not, but I can. I will also try Wi-Fi, if only to see if the variations persist, even if the baseline is higher.
Note that the switch is also a Netgear, a ProSAFE GS105, about four years old, and has never been a problem before.
I tried bypassing the GS105 switch, and also switching to Wi-Fi. The baseline ping did not change, but the variation remains. I have looked on-line about Rocket League server ping response and there are many many complaints. Maybe it's just a coincidence. At the weekend I will put the old Asus router back in temporarily to confirm.
